The innovative Darien Library (CT) – one of the busiest and most highly ranked public libraries of its size in the country – seeks a creative, self-motivated library school student to become a member of the Children’s Services team for a Fall Internship beginning in September, 2011.
The position will allow the student to gain experience working in a busy Children’s Library providing reference and reader services. The Intern will also have the opportunity to observe & conduct programs as well as participate in collection development with the librarians on staff. The successful candidate will have a willingness to learn, a love of working with children and a passion for public service. The accepted candidate will receive a wealth of experience from working in this dynamic environment.
The Internship is for one day a week starting in September and goes until the end of the year. The Internship may continue to the end of the academic year. Darien Library will provide meals and Metro-North train passes for the duration of the Internship.
