Online Education Specialist – 29450BR Instructional Technology Specialist, YSS

General Purpose: Reporting to the Online Learning Program Manager, the Specialist will collaborate with Yale faculty, staff, and subject matter experts to develop and maintain high quality digital learning materials, assessments and courses in accordance with learning objectives. The Specialist will leverage best practices of instructional design and the latest educational technologies to create interactive and exceptional courses and content. This position will also be instrumental in course delivery, providing the necessary administrative and pedagogical support required to maintain course quality. In addition, the Specialist will research academic innovation for the continued improvement, success, and diversification of program offerings.
Required Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and three years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Qualifications:
- Comprehensive knowledge of instructional theory, online course design and pedagogy as well as assessment.
- Proficiency with learning management systems and web-based collaborative tools.
- Experience with streaming video, screen casting production and content authoring tools.
- Proven ability to work independently or within a collaborative environment.
- Excellent project management and problem solving skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Preferred: Online or classroom teaching experience.
